The Cleveland Police Foundation and Councilman Martin Keane presented young Angel Medina with a plaque and commendation coin for an act of kindness toward an elderly handicapped male. Off-duty Cleveland Police Officer Lisa Cornell was at a red light on Rocky River Drive when she noticed an elderly handicapped male in a wheelchair stuck on the curb. Before she could stop and help, she spotted Angel jump off his bike and rush over to help the male on to the sidewalk. She was so impressed by this young man's act of kindness, she tracked him down and found that he was a student at Westpark Community School. Lisa contacted Angel's father and asked the Cleveland Police Foundation to recognize him for his kind act. CPF and Councilman Keane met Angel's father and siblings after his OLA football practice at Boomer Field and presented him with his CPF Guardian plaque and a St. Michael the Archangel commendation coin. Angel's father was also given a commendation coin for doing such a terrific job of raising his 4 children. Great job Angel, we are proud of you!! Thank you Lisa for getting involved and helping us reward this young man and for making him an example for other youth to follow!!
