Budget Specialist
Constellation Schools Administrative Offices


Reports To:  Treasurer

The Budget Specialist functions as the primary budget analyst and is responsible for the creation, approval and tracking, of all expenditures and revenues against each school budget. The Budget Specialist oversees the chart of accounts to ensure accurate processing and reporting of all financial information. 

Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaboratively plans and assists in development and implementation of school budgets.
  • Creates, approves and tracks all expenses and revenues against budgets.
  • Analyzes budgets to ensure schools are efficient with spending and to assist in allocation of the funding received.
  • Presents budgets and budget issues to school principals verbally or in writing.
  • Works with all management leaders and principals relating to financial issues.
  • Provides feedback in relation to the departments and schools expenses and revenues.
  • Analyzes expenditures and revenue in relation to budget figures to ensure schools expenses are on budget. Provides reports to schools.
  • Forecasts budget amounts for each school on a yearly basis.
  • Analyzes Monthly Operating Budget Reports.
  • Responds to inquiries from all Constellation School staffs.
  • Attends budget meetings and financial meetings as requested.
  • Approves all purchase orders and verifies general ledger accounts via Procurify.
  • Maintains chart of accounts for all schools.
  • Assists Treasurer with grant activity.
  • Prepares budget and financial reports.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/or five years budget experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in budgeting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, accounting software, report generation, spreadsheets and databases and writing software.
  • Strong analytical skills: must be able to process a variety of information, evaluate costs and benefits, and solve complex problems.
  • Able to work with multiple ledgers.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Able to work effectively and cooperatively with staff.
  • Able to maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Accuracy in keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data with attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Senior Field Technician
Constellation Schools Administrative Offices


Reports To: Technology Director

Position Summary: Provide technical support to a large, varied user group, including other Field Technicians. Participate in technical projects as needed. Provides assistance and back-up to the Systems Administrator.

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Year Round.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as integral member of the technology team and support the values, mission and goals of Constellation and its schools.
  • Provides second- or third-tier technical support and assistance as needed to field technicians.
  • Cross-trains, assist, and provides back-up, when necessary, to the Systems Administrator.
  • Utilizes organizational skills to create network accounts with precision.
  • Manages project resources during project implementation (people, equipment, purchased services, etc.)
  • Identifies, coordinates, and leads projects with Team Supervisor, Technology Director and Field Technicians.
  • Supports a collaborative working environment in which technology resources are available so that staff can perform efficiently and students can be successful learners.
  • Communicates effectively with administrative staff, school principals and teachers.
  • Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots all:
  • o Computer hardware and software
    o Projectors, Smart Boards, scanners, printers, and various peripherals
    o Wired and wireless connections and devices.
  • Processes warranty information and repair work with associated documentation.
  • Responds to all inquiries promptly.
  • Implements established hardware and software maintenance procedures.
  • Maintains an effective understanding of Information Technology as it progresses over time and contributes ideas to develop new solutions.
  • Creates and maintains detailed records & notes relating to projects, hardware, procedures, etc.
  • Consistently uses official programs such as help desk ticketing, time tracking, etc.
  • Represents the organization professionally and treat everyone respectfully.
  • Adheres to the Staff Handbook and all Constellation Policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Technology Director, CFO and/or Executive Director.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required:
  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, programming or related field, or substantial experience with Windows based computers, software and networking.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Technical Support role.
  • 1 year experience within a school setting required.
  • Valid Ohio drivers license.
  • Work history demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to educate users as well as provide straight technical support.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance and support of a large fleet / user base.
  • Experience with a wide variety of hardware and software, as typically used in an education environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, maintain the confidentiality of privileged information and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to consistently follow protocol and instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently, and with a team.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment as needed.

While performing these duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a school setting.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift 50 pounds; able to reach, bend, sit and stoop. The employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.

Travel:
Must be able to travel to various site locations. Valid OH drivers license required. Must provide own reliable transportation for travel between sites.
