Dear Eastside Arts Families,
As we prepare to launch an exciting new school year, I want to personally welcome you back and extend my heartfelt appreciation for your continued partnership. My name is Brian K. Draper, Sr., and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Eastside Arts Academy—a place where we believe that in every child lives a spark, and we are committed to igniting it with knowledge, kindness, and courage.
Our theme this year is simple and powerful: One Voice. One Vision. One Village.
Together, we will ensure that every child at Eastside Arts Academy has the opportunity to think
critically, lead with empathy, and live with purpose.
As a school community, we will be anchored in our SOAR expectations, which will shape the
culture and climate of our building. At Eastside, every student is expected to:
- Be Safe – through positive choices and care for self and others.
- Be Organized – by arriving prepared, focused, and ready to learn.
- Be Accountable – by taking ownership of their actions and learning.
- Be Respectful – in their words, actions, and interactions with others.
These core values will be integrated into our daily instruction, hallway transitions, classroom
routines, and peer interactions—ensuring that Eastside is a place where every child feels known,
valued, and empowered.

Back To School News
- First Day of School: Thursday, August 21st
- Open House: Tuesday, August 19th from 4:00pm–6:00pm
- Doors open daily at 7:40am
- Students are considered tardy after 8:01am
- Dismissal is at 3:15pm
🕒Daily Schedule & Operations
Breakfast: 7:40am–8:00am
Tardy Bell: 8:01am
Dismissal: 3:15pm for all students
Office Hours: 7:45am–3:30pm (Calls accepted 7:30am–3:30pm)
Visitors: By appointment only
Communication: Please register on Class Dojo to stay updated with your child’s classroom and school-wide announcements.
✏️ ✏️ Supplies
🎧 All students will need simple, wired, plain black earbuds for classroom use.
While Constellation Schools provides school supplies, families may supplement them using our suggested list (basic rainbow colors only—no glitter, neon, or pastels).

🚗 Arrival Procedures
All students enter through the main entrance on Worley Avenue between 7:40am–8:00am
Doors close at 8:00am. Late arrivals are marked tardy.
Worley Ave is ONE-WAY westbound (between E. 71st & E. 66th) from:
7:30am–9:00am and
3:00pm–4:00pm.
⚠️ Drive 20 MPH – police have been actively ticketing.
No vehicles are permitted in the parking lot during arrival. The lot will be coned off for safety.
🔴 Do not move the cones. Always drive slowly.
- 🛑 Dismissal Procedures
- Walkers will be released beginning at 3:10. Middle School students will pick up their youngersiblings. They will exit from the east side of the building (opposite of the main office).
- This year we will be utilizing iDismiss for car riders. ALL car riders will be dismissed on Worley Ave. beginning at 3:15. Each family will be assigned a number and receive a car tag to display daily during dismissal. Scholars will be released in the order of vehicle arrival. Upon a vehicles arrival, a staff member will notate the vehicle/family number and relay the information to an indoor staff member and the scholar(s) will be released and walked to their vehicle. Please be patient with us and each other as we work to optimize dismissal. More info will be provided at our Open House on August 19, 2025 at 4:00pm. Back to School Open House
Join us on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm for food, music and fun. Come meet Principal Draper and the 2025 – 2026 Eastside Arts Academy teaching staff. There will be a BRIEF presentation for parents and guardians that will provide an overview of the new school year.
