Dear Parents & Guardians,

My name is Dr. Joe Dismond, and I am truly grateful to be returning as the Principal of Stockyard Community School for the 2026-2027 academic school year. I will be entering my fourth year as a school principal.

While summer break ends, a new school year begins filled with hope and promise. This school year I would like to continue where we left off – building a strong school community and culture that is focused on establishing positive relationships between teachers and students, increasing our attendance, decreasing behavior reports, while increasing our Ohio State Test (OST’s) and i-Ready scores. All these goals can and will be accomplished when we work TOGETHER.

The schoolhouse is the place where your child spends the most time during the day. It remains my team’s priority that they feel safe, welcome, have a sense of belonging, and establish their voice. Through these feelings of connectedness, I believe each child attending Stockyard Community School will have the opportunity to succeed. We will also continue to learn from each other and grow TOGETHER.

Mrs. Gordon and I have been preparing a Back To School event, and we look forward to seeing each of you very soon!

Hello Stockyard Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. I am excited to welcome both our returning families and those who are joining our school community for the first time.

For those who are new, my name is Keyyana Gordon, and I am the Assistant Principal at Stockyard Community School. This will be my second year serving our students, families, and staff, and I am honored to be part of such a dedicated and supportive community. I look forward to meeting many of you and continuing to build strong partnerships with our families throughout the year.

As we prepare for the new school year, our team has been working hard over the summer to make meaningful improvements that will enhance the experience for all students. We are excited for you to see the positive changes taking place throughout our school.

This year, we have many exciting opportunities planned for our students and families, including family engagement events, school celebrations, and activities designed to strengthen our school community. We will also be introducing new incentives and recognition programs to encourage positive behavior, excellent attendance, and academic success.

At Stockyard Community School, we believe that strong family-school partnerships are essential to student achievement. We encourage you to stay involved, attend school events, and communicate regularly with our staff as we work together to support every child’s growth and success.

We cannot wait to welcome our students back this fall and begin another amazing year of learning, growth, and achievement.
