Safety & Support: Your Frequently Asked Questions

How do you ensure the physical safety of students on campus?

Our Lorain campus is designed with a “safety-first” infrastructure. This includes a secure, controlled entry system utilizing key fob access for staff and a single-point entry for all visitors. To ensure a safe and age-appropriate environment, we utilize separate hallways for different grade levels. This allows our elementary and middle school students to move through their day in spaces tailored specifically to their needs and peer groups.

What is a PBIS school, and how does it help my child?

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a proactive framework we use to establish social and academic supports. Instead of just reacting to misbehavior, we teach and model positive expectations, rewarding students for being respectful, responsible, and safe. This creates a predictable and calm environment where students can focus on learning.

How do you handle bullying?

We believe in early intervention. Through our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and our dedicated counseling office, we teach students how to manage emotions and resolve conflicts peacefully. Our small class sizes allow teachers to spot and address issues immediately.

Is your Kindergarten program changing?

No. We remain fully committed to providing Free, Full-Day Kindergarten. We believe this consistency is vital for early childhood development and provides essential stability for our working families.

What services are free?

Daily breakfast and lunch.

Tutoring and health services.

Kindergarten summer camp and summer school.
