Meet Our New Leader: Michelle Riley, Principal of Lorain Community Elementary & Middle School
Constellation Schools: Lorain Community Elementary and Middle School is pleased to announce the hiring of Michelle Riley as Principal of both buildings. Mrs. Riley is bringing with her years of educational experience as a teacher and an administrator. Her view on education is to have a collaborative school environment, as the key to creating successful teachers and students. She believes that partnerships with parents and community partners are essential to enriching the experience for all students. We strongly believe this mindset on education is the necessary foundation needed to move our schools forward!
Her career began teaching first grade at William Paca Elementary, in Maryland, where she particularly enjoyed teaching children in her class how to read after she received training in Reading Recovery. After relocating back to Northeast Ohio, Mrs. Riley continued her teaching career in Cleveland, Euclid, and Shaker; as well as, served several years as an administrator in Cleveland and North Ridgeville School Districts. Some Professional Accomplishments that she was awarded are: “Teacher of Excellence” at Central Middle School 2009-2010 School Year, “Outstanding Language Arts Teacher” with Upward Bound Pre-College Program, and Oyate Concern- Native American Reservation Community Development Awarded “Certificate of Excellence” July, 2009. Mrs. Riley has used her diverse background and experience to be able to reach, teach, and lead all students of multiple backgrounds to assist them with their personal academic and behavioral goals.
