Dear Elyria Community School Parents and Guardians,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Elyria Community School.

As someone who grew up in Elyria, it is truly an honor to return to my hometown and serve the students, families, and staff of this wonderful school community. I have been an educator since 1999, serving as both a classroom teacher and a school principal. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to creating a positive, student-centered learning environment where every child is challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

I believe that every student can succeed when high expectations, strong relationships, and meaningful learning opportunities are combined. Just as important is the partnership between home and school. Your involvement and support play a critical role in your child’s education, and I look forward to working alongside you to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.

One of the greatest predictors of student success is consistent attendance. Being at school every day and arriving on time establishes positive habits, builds routines, and maximizes learning opportunities. Together, we can help our students develop the responsibility and commitment that will serve them well throughout their educational journey.

I also believe that open, honest communication is essential to building trust and fostering a strong school community. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns. By working together, we can provide the very best educational experience for every child.

I look forward to meeting you and your family at our Back-to-School Open House on Monday, August 17, from 3:00–6:00 p.m. It will be a wonderful opportunity to meet our staff, visit classrooms, and begin what I know will be an outstanding school year.
